The opening of the 33rd Minsk International Book Fair took place today at the BELEXPO Minsk International Exhibition Center. A separate stand of the Union State Standing Committee will be on display at the fair, introducing visitors to new books from the "Union State Library" publishing project dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, the 25th anniversary of the Union State, and military leaders P.A. Rumyantsev and I.F. Paskevich, reports a Soyuz.by correspondent.

One of the central themes of this year's fair is the 35th anniversary of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

The exhibition features approximately 500 exhibitors from 23 countries, including Russia, Brazil, Venezuela, Vietnam, Iran, Kazakhstan, Moldova, the UAE, and others.

"Traditionally, the Union State presents publications dedicated to the glorious names of our Fatherland, the genocide of the Belarusian people, and Operation Bagration. It's crucial that we add new publications every year. And 2025 is no exception," - Anatoly Markevich, Head of the Union State Permanent Committee's Minsk Office, told reporters.

Thus, in 2025, the "Union State Library" project was expanded with four new publications dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, the 25th anniversary of the Union State, and the military leaders P.A. Rumyantsev and I.F. Paskevich: "The Road to May. For Everyone, for All Four Years," "The Road to May. We Need One Victory," "Not Just Arms! The Great Military Leaders P.A. Rumyantsev and I.F. Paskevich," and "The Union State: Integration, Development, Trust."

The Union State Stand also features previously published publications: "Defending the Fatherland: On the exploits of the Brest, Vitebsk, Minsk, Mogilev, and Polotsk infantry regiments in the Patriotic War of 1812," "No Statute of Limitations..." on the crimes of fascism against the peoples of the Soviet Union during the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945," and many others.

The book fair also featured a presentation of the publication "For Children About the Union State." The book, in accessible language for children, describes the Union State of Belarus and Russia and its institutions. Young readers will learn about the creation of the Union State, how relations between the two neighboring countries are developing today, and what events are taking place within the Union State. The project was implemented by the publishing house "Education and Upbringing" with the cooperation and support of the Standing Committee of the Union State.

The exhibition and fair will continue until March 22.
