A modern economy enables the preservation of sovereignty and independence. This was stated by Natalya Kochanova, Chairperson of the Council of the Republic, at a meeting with heads of local government bodies of the Republic of Belarus and heads of state authorities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, reports BELTA.

The Speaker noted the uniqueness of this platform. "We are meeting with friends and colleagues. The exhibition we have just visited is confirmation that our enterprises and our regions are working effectively. And we are already truly feeling the results of our work today," said Natalya Kochanova, referring to the effectiveness of the forums held over the years.

She noted that the initiatives and projects put forward by regional leaders are focused on improving the quality of life of citizens. "This meeting with representatives of the regions is an opportunity to share best practices in our work, exchange opinions, and discuss issues that may still arise in the course of our interaction," said the Chairperson of the Council of the Republic.

Natalya Kochanova also emphasized the expansion of the forum's geography. In recent years, it has been held in Grodno and Vitebsk, Ufa and Nizhny Novgorod. This year, the event is being hosted by Minsk and the Minsk Region.

Quoting the words of the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, the Speaker noted that regional cooperation is perhaps the most important link in bilateral relations.
