Regional ties are at the heart of relations between the fraternal peoples, Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives Vadim Ipatov said during a meeting with a delegation of Russia’s Nizhny Novgorod Oblast led by Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Oblast Evgeny Lyulin, BelTA has learned.

"Belarus and Russia are setting an example of the interstate integrate in the name of people's interests," Vadim Ipatov said. “As of today, 35 governors of the Russian Federation have visited our country and discussed economic and political cooperation. The parliaments cannot stand aside. Projects must be implemented taking into account the law. The legislation should be neither a barrier or any kind of legal block on the way of these projects," the vice speaker said.

According to him, all these issues were discussed during today's meeting.

"Cooperation between the regions is at the heart of relations between our fraternal nations. Today, this cooperation is growing stronger. The avenues of cooperation are many and varied: economy and humanitarian matters. We discussed the interaction in terms of the development of the educational system of Belarus and Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, patriotic education of young people, preservation of the historical memory of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War. We discussed the ways to preserve the traditional values. Here the approaches are the same,” Vadim Ipatov noted. "Therefore, our interaction is aimed at implementing the policy that is outlined by the leaders of our states. MPs are doing everything necessary to ensure that this work is effective. So is the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia," Vadim Ipatov said.
