Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko listed the main areas of industrial cooperation between Belarus and the Sverdlovsk Region of the Russian Federation at a meeting with Governor of the Russian region Evgeny Kuyvashev, BelTA has learned.

"Our main indicator, the trade turnover, has been growing for the fourth year in a row. A new target has been announced today ($1 billion - Approx. BELTA), it is quite achievable with a good organization of work. The available reserves were outlined at the meeting of the Business Cooperation Council today. Of course, the sphere of industry and industrial cooperation has always been our leading one. Most of the planned projects have already been implemented. This also applies to the joint project of BelAZ with the Russian plant "Pneumostroymashina", aviation, and elevator equipment. With the participation of the Russian Shvabe holding, a new enterprise has been created in Belarus in a very promising area - composite products of complex shape," Roman Golovchenko said.

He stressed that efforts are being made at all levels to supply equipment to the Sverdlovsk region. These are mining dump trucks, tractors, and combines. There are prospects for passenger transport.

"We understand that financial conditions are quite tense right now, but we have something to offer. In early February, I signed a letter addressed to you detailing all the tools offered by our financial institutions to ensure that our potential buyers have a comfortable financial leverage," the Prime Minister added.

In his opinion, such tools can be used to implement a project to modernize the Yekaterinburg tram fleet, as well as in the fields of construction and road management.

Interregional cooperation is actively developing. "Eight twinning agreements have been signed and are being implemented, and others are being worked out. Last September, we hosted the Yekaterinburg Days in Minsk, and we are planning Minsk Days in Yekaterinburg," the head of the Belarusian government noted.

"We confirm our plans to participate in the INNOPROM International exhibition in Yekaterinburg. We are waiting for you at the end of September at the exhibition in Belarus," Roman Golovchenko concluded.
