Glazyev spoke about the work of the new Committee on Standardization and Quality of the Union State

State Secretary of the Union State Sergei Glazyev, commenting on the results of the recent meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Union State in Moscow, spoke about the prospects for the activities of the newly established Union State Committee on Standardization and Quality.

"Rosstandart and Belarusian Gosstandart are working very closely together. And even before the creation of this supranational Committee, they are implementing many common projects," said Sergei Glazyev. He also added that a joint meeting of the standardization bodies of Belarus and Russia will be held soon.
"The advanced technical level of Rosstandart and Belarusian Gosstandart allows us to expect that the new Committee will become an intellectual, scientific, and technical leader in the field of standardization. Synergy will occur," Sergei Glazyev emphasized. "But this is not the only task of this Committee – it is designed to enhance the competitiveness of our economy. And it's not just about developing standards, but also about ensuring that our products comply with these standards," the State Secretary of the Union State noted.
He named the harmonization of legislation, the creation of common requirements for the accreditation of certification bodies, monitoring the state of affairs in the field of quality regulation, and protecting the Union State goods market from substandard products among the priority areas of the supranational structure.
