The Zhemchuzhina Children's Rehabilitation and Wellness Center is a regular performer of the Union State's event on the organization of sanatorium treatment for children from the affected regions of Belarus and Russia. This year, the Zhemchuzhina CRWC is holding a wellness shift and the Union State Day for the 20th time. The State Secretary of the Union State, Sergey Glazyev, sent his greetings. "I am sincerely glad to welcome the participants of the Union State Day, a truly important event dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory," the State Secretary's welcoming address reads.
Sergey Glazyev emphasized that the community of Belarusian and Russian youth is thoughtful about preserving common cultural, moral and historical values.
"By protecting memory, we are jointly resisting attempts to falsify the truth about the unparalleled heroic past of our fathers, grandfathers and great-grandfathers," he emphasized.
The State Secretary of the Union State also called it a good tradition to hold the Day of the Union State in Zhemchuzhina. By the way, this year the holiday is being held for the twentieth time.
The program of the Union State Day is very rich and includes a large number of thematic and entertaining events, in which, along with children from joint Belarusian-Russian shifts, representatives of the Union State Standing Committee, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia, and the district administration.
As part of the Union State Day, a solemn gathering "Unity of our States" was held at the Zhemchuzhina.
Children and adults planted trees on the Alley of Memory and Friendship, which was laid today in honor of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the strengthening of friendly ties between the children of the Union State.
Next, the dialogue platform "Letter to the future", the quest "Creating unity" and the relay race "Fire of Friendship" took place.
And the Union State Day will end with a festive concert "The Unity of Belarus and Russia – There is no more beautiful Union in the whole world!".
Reference: According to Article 18 of the Treaty on the Establishment of the Union State, Belarus and Russia carry out joint actions in the field of environmental safety, prevention of natural and man-made disasters and elimination of their consequences, including the consequences of the Chernobyl accident.
From 2002 onwards, the Union State has been organizing an event every year to organize the treatment and rehabilitation of children from the regions of Belarus and Russia most affected by the Chernobyl disaster, as well as other man-made and natural disasters.
The Standing Committee of the Union State acts as the state customer and organizer of the event.
Every year, up to 2,000 children aged 6 to 16 years can be sent for treatment and rehabilitation within the framework of the event. The total duration of the treatment and rehabilitation course for children is 21 days.
