"The 'Every Third' requiem concert is the central event of the 80th anniversary of Victory Day," State Secretary of the Union State Sergey Glazyev told journalists before the requiem concert at the Kremlin Palace in Moscow, BELTA reports.

"Holding the 'Every Third' memorial concert is of great importance to us. We are hosting a concert dedicated to the victims of the genocide of the Belarusian people during the Nazi occupation, in memory of the heroes who defended our land and liberated it. They are forever etched in our history as heroic liberators, thanks to whom we live today," said Sergey Glazyev.

He also noted that the Union State is undertaking extensive work to preserve historical memory. "For us, this is a central event, taking place in the year of the 80th anniversary of Victory. It is part of our joint work plan, which includes more than 50 events related to the Great Patriotic War, including the reconstruction of fortresses, the creation of museum complexes, and youth cultural events. This is one of the most important areas of work, particularly relevant today. This memory is very much alive," the Union State Secretary emphasized.

Sergey Glazyev expressed his gratitude to the organizers for the opportunity to touch, experience, and feel the vibrant images presented on Russia's main stage. "This is very important for all of us," he emphasized.

NOTE: The "Every Third" requiem concert took place at the Kremlin Palace. Six thousand people gathered in the Great Hall. In memory of every third person killed in the Great Patriotic War, both well-known Soviet songs about war and Victory and modern compositions on military themes were performed. The program included unique newsreel footage and photographic documentation, and the poetic basis was Anatoly Vertinsky's "Requiem for Every Fourth." The program premiered last May on Poklonnaya Hill in Moscow. To commemorate the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, a series of requiem concerts was held in Minsk at the Palace of the Republic in April of this year, attracting audiences from all regions of Belarus.
