The State Secretary of the Union State spoke to journalists following the meeting of the Union State Council of Ministers held in Minsk on October 1.
The agenda for the Union State Council of Ministers meeting included 15 issues, ranging from the key topics for implementing the provisions of the Treaty on the Creation of the Union State for 2024–2026 and plans for the next three years, to issues concerning economic cooperation, security, standardization, transport, youth projects, and information support.

"15 issues were considered at today's meeting of the Council of Ministers, including a number of issues that will subsequently be submitted to the Supreme State Council for review," the State Secretary of the Union State noted. "These include the results of implementing the Main Guidelines for the Implementation of the Union State Treaty over the past three-year period and the draft Main Guidelines for the Implementation of the Union State Treaty for the upcoming three years." "These are extensive documents containing dozens of provisions, and they essentially form the basis for planning our work," Sergey Glazyev noted.
He also reported that the Union State Council of Ministers had reviewed a fundamental document: the draft Youth Policy Strategy.
"This is the document that will serve as the foundation for shaping a common youth policy — grounded in a shared system of traditional values — within our Union State," the State Secretary of the Union State commented.
He further reported that the Union State Council of Ministers had reviewed preliminary results from the pilot project on cross-border suburban rail services.
"It was noted that the project is proceeding successfully; trains running between the Vitebsk and Smolensk regions are in high demand, with occupancy rates exceeding even our most optimistic expectations," Sergey Glazyev observed. "We therefore hope this work will continue. In addition, the implementation of Council of Ministers directives was reviewed, and a key decision regarding standards and quality was approved. The appointment of the Chairman of the Committee on Standards and Quality (Dmitry Basko — *Editor's Note*) was confirmed. In principle, he has already begun work — having formulated plans during the Union State Forum of Regions this summer — and is now officially assuming his duties. We expect that in the near future, during 'Quality Week' in St. Petersburg, the Committee head will convene the first official meeting and begin drafting proposals for the Union State standards in sectors not yet covered by Eurasian Economic Union standards and technical regulations. He will also take measures to protect our market from substandard products imported in violation of technical regulations," Sergey Glazyev concluded, adding that this is important for both consumers and producers from Belarus and Russia.
