The meeting was chaired by Elena Morgunova, Chairperson of the State Standardization Committee. The event was attended by Sergey Glazyev, State Secretary of the Union State, members of the Standing Committee of the Union State, representatives of the Eurasian Economic Commission, as well as relevant government bodies and their organizations.
The agenda included approximately ten items.

BACKGROUND: The decision to establish the Committee was made by the Presidents of Belarus and Russia at the meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State in February 2026. The creation of a supranational body in the field of standardization and quality was initiated by the Belarusian side, specifically by the State Standardization Committee of Belarus.
The Committee on Standardization and Quality of the Union State is seen as a platform for representatives of government agencies, interested organizations, and experts to discuss problematic issues related to mutual product supplies, with the aim of resolving them promptly at the expert level, as well as developing recommendations for Belarusian and Russian organizations on improving the quality and competitiveness of their products.

The activities of the Committee on Standardization and Quality of the Union State are particularly relevant in light of the implementation of the initiative to grant products the status of "Goods of the Union State." As previously reported, two items have recently been added to the register of Union State goods – the Belarusian passenger bus MAZ-305E20 and the BELAZ-7513D mining dump truck.
Today, following the first meeting of the Committee on Standardization and Quality of the Union State, two standardization plans for the Union State were signed, covering the areas of baby food as well as microwave and microelectronics.
