Extensive Belarus-Russia cooperation agenda discussed by high-level group

A videoconference session of the High-Level Group of the Council of Ministers of the Union State of Belarus and Russia took place on 9 August. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Vladimir Semashko co-chaired the session, the embassy's press service told BelTA.

Participants of the session discussed various matters concerning Belarus-Russia cooperation, including terms of sales of Belarusian lifts, access of radioelectronic products to government (municipal) procurement contracts in Russia, the creation of a joint system for determining the level of localization of automobiles and special vehicles and machines of Belarusian and Russian make, the lifting of restrictions from shipments of granite macadam. The sides also discussed a number of new topics and cooperation avenues, in particular, the procedure for recognizing digital signatures in digital documents and the enforcement of digital documents in transboundary information exchange within the framework of the Union State of Belarus and Russia. The sides also talked over Belarus-Russia cooperation in microelectronics and conditions for using electronic components of Belarusian make in Russia. The mutual recognition of COVID-19 vaccination documents in the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation was also discussed.
The sides also came to terms on finishing the pilot operation of communication channels with reduced roaming rates. Comfortable roaming rates will be offered to roaming mobile users of Belarus and Russia as from 1 September 2021 on a permanent basis.
