Experts of the Parliamentary Assembly will discuss joint initiatives to preserve and protect historical memory

According to the press service of the Parliamentary Assembly, on February 5, 2026, a meeting of the department of the Scientific Advisory Council of the Russian Federation on the preservation and protection of historical memory will be held in Moscow.

Elena Malysheva – Head of the Scientific Advisory Council Department, Head of the National Center for Historical Memory under the President of the Russian Federation, Member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor;
Denis Gergilev – Doctor of Historical Sciences, Acting Director of the Institute of Russian History of the Russian Academy of Sciences;
Mikhail Myagkov – Head of the Center for the History of Wars and Geopolitics at the Institute of General History of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Scientific Director of the Russian Military Historical Society;

The agenda of the meeting includes defining the main areas of work of the department of the Scientific Advisory Council of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia for 2026 on the preservation and protection of historical memory, as well as developing regulatory documents and resolving organizational issues related to the establishment of the Union State Award for contributions to the preservation of historical memory.
