Council of Parliamentary Assembly of Belarus-Russia Union State convenes in Pskov

A Belarusian parliamentary delegation headed by Chairman of the House of Representatives Vladimir Andreichenko is taking part in the meeting of the Council of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Belarus-Russia Union State in Pskov, Russian Federation, on 4 September, BelTA learned from the press service of the House of Representatives.

The participants of the meeting are set to consider the following issues “Intensification of interregional and cross-border cooperation within the framework of the Union State as an effective mechanism to respond to economic sanctions, modern challenges and threats” and “The 2024 Union State draft budget”.

After that, the parliamentarians from Belarus and Russia will discuss the Union State program to implement a coordinated social security and labor policy (harmonization of legislation on labor and occupational safety, employment, social insurance and pension benefits; family and child benefits, social services and support for low-income people, the disabled and veterans).

In addition to that, the agenda includes a number of organizational matters, as well as preparations for the festival “Youth for the Union State” that will be held in Smolensk on 5-9 September.
