The delegation spent several days in Karelia. Various enterprises were visited during the stay: OOO Amkodor-Onego, AO Petrozavodskmash, and OOO Prionezhskaya Mining Company. Members of the delegation could see how BelAZ haul trucks of Belarusian make operate in the open pit Chevzhavara. It was a pleasure to hear that BelAZ vehicles do their job in complicated conditions and make a big contribution to the development of the enterprise, the press service of the Belarusian Forestry Ministry said.
During the visit a roundtable session was held to discuss the advancement of cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Karelia. The press service reminded that Belarus’ Forestry Ministry has been tasked by the government with stepping up economic cooperation with Karelia.
During the roundtable session Deputy Forestry Minister Vladimir Krech stressed that the potential for advancing cooperation between the two republics is far from being depleted. The Belarusian side is interested in greater presence of Belarusian enterprises on the Karelian market and is ready to import products from the friendly republic that are not manufactured in Belarus.
