Belarus and Russia are taking measures to minimize modern challenges and threats in the current intense international situation. State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Aleksandr Volfovich made the statement as he met with Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev on 29 June, BelTA has learned.

Speaking about the 80th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, Aleksandr Volfovich noted that in 1941 representatives of 34 nationalities stood together fighting the enemy in the Brest Fortress.

Aleksandr Volfovich added that as strategic partners Belarus and Russia are working out steps to ensure national security, peace, and order in their territories.
