Belarus, Russia sign two telecommunication agreements at TIBO 2023

The Belarusian Communications and Informatization Ministry and the Russian Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media Ministry signed two agreements in the sphere of telecommunication on the sidelines of the 29th international information and communications technologies forum TIBO, BelTA has learned.

Agreements were signed on unifying laws and regulations in the sphere of telecommunication and on realizing technical, organizational, and other kinds of measures aimed at preventing, detecting, and stopping violations of the procedure for mutual transmission of international traffic via telecommunication networks, at enabling correct routing, identification, and billing of roaming calls in the territory of the Union State of Belarus and Russia.

The documents were signed by Belarusian Communications and Informatization Minister Konstantin Shulgan and Russian Deputy Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media Minister Andrei Zarenin.

According to Konstantin Shulgan, these documents are valuable and important because technologies develop rapidly. “Interaction and harmonization of the legal base between countries of the Union State of Belarus and Russia have been prompted by the mood of the times. These agreements are stipulated by a Union State program. It gives us the legal capability for moving forward,” the official said.
