Belarus and Russia have signed an agreement on the procedure for the mutual execution of court rulings pronounced by Belarusian and Russian courts. Belarusian Justice Minister Yevgeny Kovalenko, Russian Justice Minister Konstantin Chuychenko, State Secretary of the Union State of Belarus and Russia Dmitry Mezentsev took part in the session.

The agreement substantially expands the simplified procedure for executing court rulings with rulings of courts of general jurisdiction, which oblige the debtor to pay monetary sums to the plaintiff. The agreement also provides for clear-cut guarantees of the observation of rights of the plaintiff and the debtor.

During the session the parties reviewed progress in fulfilling the main guidelines on implementing the provisions of the Union State Foundation Treaty for the 2024-2026 period. They discussed proposals on harmonizing the legislation on court enforcement proceedings, including proposals on unifying approaches to foreclosure on the property of debtors, which are legal entities. The parties sketched out further steps to provide legal assistance in civil suits and economic suits in electronic form. Special attention was paid to issues in the field of bilateral execution of writs of execution.
