Belarus, Russia discuss draft concept of Union State information security

Another round of Belarusian-Russian ministerial consultations on information security took place in Minsk on 13 April, BelTA has learned. The Belarusian delegation was headed by Deputy State Secretary of the Security Council Vladimir Archakov, and the Russian delegation was led by Deputy Secretary of the Security Council Oleg Khramov.

The parties exchanged opinions on the whole range of issues of the Belarusian-Russian cooperation in information security both in the bilateral format and at international and regional platforms. Taking into account integration processes in the Union State, they discussed implementation of the plan of the main areas of the Belarusian-Russian cooperation in international information security for 2021-2022. The delegations confirmed importance to enhance joint efforts to ensure information security in the CIS and the CSTO. The parties assessed the interaction of Belarusian and Russian experts on the UN security issues in the field of information and communication technologies. The participants of the consultations emphasized the relevance of strengthening international cooperation in combating information crime and the need to enhance the role of international law and the International Telecommunication Union in internet governance. The draft concept of the Union State information security was discussed.
