Belarus, Russia discuss cooperation in science, technology

The Industry Ministry of Belarus has hosted a working meeting between Deputy Industry Minister Aleksei Kozlov and Deputy Secretary General of the Belarus-Russia Union State Aleksei Kubrin who discussed cooperation in science and technology, BelTA has learned.

Aleksei Kozlov and Aleksei Kubrin believe that it is necessary to keep working on new science and technology programs of the Union State. Priority attention is to be given to programs in high technologies and import substitution. They discussed practical use of research outcomes and production of innovative products that are in demand on the Union State market and have export potential.
They also discussed the use of the outcomes of the Union State science and technology program “Development of new-generation electronic components for control and safety systems of special and dual-purpose vehicles (Autoelectronics)” and the outcomes of the Union State science and technology program “Development of modern and promising technology to produce special and dual-use thermal imaging equipment based on third-generation infrared photodetectors in the Union State (Union Thermal Imager)”.
The parties exchanged views on the prospects of joint science and technology projects and reviewed the main areas of cooperation. It was noted that promising projects are high on the agenda in Belarus and the Russian Federation. The implementation of joint projects will accelerate and expand mutually beneficial cooperation in science and technology.
