Belarus, Russia agree on 17 import-substituting projects in industry

Belarus and Russia have agreed on 17 integration import-substituting projects worth more than RUB80 billion, Deputy Industry Minister of Belarus Dmitry Kharitonchik said on the sidelines of the 10th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia in Ufa on 28 June, BelTA has learned.

Dmitry Kharitonchik recalled that an intergovernmental agreement on providing a loan of up to RUB105 billion to the Belarusian government was signed in November 2022. “The Industry Ministry of Belarus and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia have done a great deal of work in this regard. Lists of projects have been compiled across various product types,” the deputy minister said.

Financing became available for a project run by Gomselmash. Four more projects will receive financing in June. In addition, there are plans to submit passports for approval for another four import-substituting projects.
