Belarus' PM to visit Astrakhan, Astana on 26-28 October

A Belarusian government delegation led by Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko will visit Astrakhan and Astana on 26-28 October, BelTA has learned.

“On 26-28 October, a government delegation will visit Astrakhan Oblast of Russia as well as Kazakhstan. It is important and relevant to expand direct contacts with Russian regions. While in Astrakhan Oblast, the Belarusian delegation will discuss efforts to intensify trade and economic cooperation and a number of other relevant issues, in particular, how to increase the use of Astrakhan ports to ship Belarusian products,” Roman Golovchenko said.

When the visit to Astrakhan Oblast is over, the government delegation will leave for Astana to take part in a regular meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government. “We will have a detailed discussion of the draft free trade agreement in services as well as investments. Belarus has always paid serious attention to this matter and pushed for passing this document as soon as possible,” the prime minister said.

According to the press service of the government, the agenda of the working visit is extensive. It covers cooperation with Russian regions, Belarusian initiatives in the CIS and many more topics. The delegation will hold a number of negotiations and sign joint documents.
