On September 23, Sergey Nalivayko, Head of the Representation of the Standing Committee of the Union State in Minsk, held a reception for citizens.

The first question concerned the procedure applicable to a student – subject to conscription into the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus – who had enrolled in a Russian university. The student's mother contacted the head of the Permanent Committee of the Union State’s Representative Office in Minsk.
It was noted that, since the young man had enrolled in the higher education institution under a Rossotrudnichestvo quota, he was not eligible for a military service deferment. For Belarusian citizens studying in the Russian Federation, a deferment from military service applies only if they were sent to study by national government bodies or as part of state programs of the Republic of Belarus.
At the visitor's request, a written explanation will be provided to her.
The second issue raised by a citizen with the Representation of the Standing Committee of the Union State in Minsk concerned improving the operations of integration bodies and Union initiatives.
