On 13 November, Gomel Oblast of Belarus and Russia's Magadan Oblast signed a protocol of multifaceted cooperation. The document was signed by Chairman of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee Ivan Krupko and Governor of Magadan Oblast Sergei Nosov following a meeting with the participation of Ambassador Dmitry Krutoi in the Belarusian Embassy in Russia, BelTA has learned.

"The protocol identifies areas of cooperation: the supply of equipment for the needs of Magadan Oblast, food products, including fish and seafood to Belarus. Taking into account logistics, we need to find options to make the business profitable for both sides," Ivan Krupko told reporters after the signing ceremony.

At the talks, the parties also discussed not the cooperation with Belarus as a whole, since Ivan Krupko is the Belarusian government's point man for cooperation with this Russian region. "The sanctions imposed on Russia and Belarus created difficulties but also additional opportunities in terms of trade, food and equipment supplies. Prospects for new joint ventures are great. Today Russia is our strategic partner, and interregional cooperation is bearing fruit," the Gomel Oblast governor said.
