Brest hosting Belarus-Russia sister cities forum

The 12th Forum of Sister Cities of Belarus and Russia will be running in Brest on 28-29 September, BelTA learned from the Brest City Executive Committee.

Delegates from 24 cities of Belarus and 67 cities of Russia will take part in the forum. The work is structured into four sections: economic and business cooperation, social policy, public diplomacy in education, culture and tourism. The first meeting of youth representatives of the sister cities of Belarus and Russia will take place as part of the forum.

On the first day of the forum, participants will visit the Brest Hero Fortress Memorial Complex, lay flowers at the Eternal Flame and honor the memory of the Fatherland defenders. The program of the second day will be intense. Belarusian and Russian delegates will review outcomes of interaction in various areas and thrash out cooperation plans.

The previous Forum of Sister Cities of Belarus and Russia was held in Pskov. The 11th edition of the forum was dedicated to strengthening the Union State in the face of external challenges and threats.
