A videoconference working meeting chaired by Belarusian Ambassador to Russia Dmitry Krutoi and Vice Governor of Krasnodar Territory Aleksandr Ruppel took place on 7 April to discuss the implementation of the roadmap for cooperation between Belarus and Krasnodar Territory of the Russian Federation for 2023-2024, BelTA learned from the press service of the diplomatic mission.

This roadmap has been designed to enhance cooperation with the Russian region following the visit of the Belarusian delegation led by Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko to Sochi on 24 November 2022. “The need for the meeting was determined by both the importance of bilateral trade and economic relations for Belarus and Kuban and the scale of the agreements included in the document. The parties took stock of the progress made in the implementation of 56 measures of the roadmap, problems related to their implementation and the need to take additional measures to eliminate the reasons for the lack of results of the current interaction. The parties praised the successful implementation of a number of agreements, and took note of the delays or deviations from the initial plans,” the press service said.

“Following the meeting specific instructions will be given to eliminate all the revealed reasons that impede effective realization of the plan to boost cooperation with the Russian region,” the embassy said.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the regional administration and heads of the Belarusian state authorities and manufacturing enterprises.

In 2022 Russia's Krasnodar Territory ranked 16th among all Russian regions in mutual trade with Belarus.
