CIS Economic Council meeting underway in Dushanbe

Dushanbe is hosting the meeting of the CIS Economic Council. Belarus’ Deputy Prime Minister Natalya Petkevich is participating in the meeting as the country’s national coordinator for CIS affairs and a member of the CIS Economic Council, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Government’s press service.

The agenda includes 27 items. Among them are the Digitalization Strategy for the CIS Major Multimodal Transport Corridors, the CIS Strategy for a Digital Economy and Information Society 2035, the CIS Strategy for Scientific and Technological Development for 2026-2035, and the CIS Plan for the 2026 Year of Healthcare. 

These and other documents will be subsequently submitted for approval to the CIS Heads of Government Council.

Before the CIS Economic Council meeting, Natalya Petkevich held a working meeting with Tajikistan’s First Deputy Prime Minister Hokim Kholiqzoda. The parties discussed current matters of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, prospects for its development, and outlined plans for further interaction.
