A delegation from Russia’s Rostov Oblast, led by Governor Yury Slyusar, visited Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ) to discuss the plant’s potential role in renewing the region’s passenger transport fleet, the MAZ press service told BelTA.

The talks focused on Rostov Oblast’s large-scale plans to purchase up to 1,000 new buses and electric buses by 2030. Therefore, a visit to MAZ was a key part of the delegation’s program.

“We very much hope that Minsk Automobile Plant will contribute substantially to this renewal,” emphasized Yury Slyusar.

For its part, MAZ management confirmed its readiness to fully meet the region’s demand for modern passenger vehicles. The two parties have a history of close collaboration, a significant milestone of which will be the opening of a multi-brand center for Belarusian equipment at Regional Center MAZ YUG. The opening ceremony is scheduled for 27 November.
