“Optimization of tax benefits is a source of additional tax revenues. Ineffective tax benefits, as well as benefits that put taxpayers in unequal economic conditions, should be abolished or cut significantly,” said Roman Golovchenko. “There are more than five hundred tax benefits. This is a lot for our economy. We need to take a closer look at them,” the premier remarked.
According to him, the main criterion is the effectiveness of the benefits provided. “Each of them has a specific goal and is meant to fulfil certain tasks that are important for the state at a given stage. The worst thing is when these benefits are used by those who are not involved in economic operations at all. And there are such cases. I am waiting for specific proposals on this issue,” the prime minister added.
