EDB: Inflation in Belarus remains below target ceiling

Inflation in Belarus stood at 4.5% year on year in August 2026, up from 4.4% in July, remaining below the 7% ceiling set for 2026, BelTA reports, citing the Eurasian Development Bank’s weekly macroeconomic review.

“An acceleration in price growth is being recorded in the non-food segment, reaching 3.2% year on year, up from 2.9%. This follows a reduction in the list of goods subject to price regulation,” the EDB noted.
Inflation for food products and services remained at the previous month’s level in August.
“Core inflation stood at 4.8% year on year in August, unchanged for the third consecutive month. This points to moderate price pressure. We expect inflation to remain below the National Bank’s ceiling by the end of 2026,” EDB analysts forecast.
