Belarusian truck maker BelAZ doubles investments in production development

The year 2025 heralded another stage of massive technological transformation for BelAZ as fixed-capital investments reached Br203.3 million, nearly twice as much as the year before, representatives of the Belarusian heavy truck manufacturing company BelAZ told BelTA.

Investments enable BelAZ to improve production standards and the quality of the vehicles it makes. Systematic upgrading of manufacturing facilities makes it possible to respond quickly to consumer demand and increase product competitiveness. In 2025 this area became one of the priorities in the company’s development, the press service noted.
Fixed-capital investments totaled Br203.3 million in 2025, which is almost double from Br109.8 million the year before. More than 60 units of high-tech equipment purchased as part of a large-scale modernization program ensured the systematic re-equipment of the manufacturing facilities and the introduction of cutting-edge quality standards.
A total of Br134.8 million was allocated for buying 64 units of equipment with improved performance, accuracy, and other necessary parameters. Among the new additions are numerically controlled machining centers, thermal cutting machines, metal-cutting and forging presses, modern welding machines, automated storage systems, and metal coating and painting equipment.
The introduction of the new equipment allows, among other things, the localization of the production of key components on the company’s own premises. Thus, in the course of implementing import substitution projects the manufacture of components for large rear-axle bearings for 90-240 tonne dump trucks has been secured and the production of a planetary-type hydromechanical gearboxes and other items has been mastered.
The modernization of the manufacturing facilities allows BelAZ not only to improve the quality of mass-produced vehicles, but also to test new models in a shorter timeframe and bring them to a whole new level of quality. Thanks to modern technologies the company has significantly reduced the time it takes to move from prototypes of promising models to their launch into mass production. Today a 17.2-tonne load-haul-dump machine for underground work is already undergoing testing as well as representatives of fundamentally new types of hardware for BelAZ: a heavy grader and a hydraulic excavator.
This year BelAZ will continue implementing projects to create new vehicles, including modernized dump trucks with the carrying capacity of 90, 180, and 290 tonnes, a complex of mining machines, and a 41-tonne articulated dump truck.
