Belarusian Energy Minister Viktor Karankevich commented on the progress in the formation of the common energy markets of the Union State as he talked to the media on the sidelines of the Belarusian energy and environmental forum Energy Expo, BelTA has learned.

"We are actively working with our colleagues from the Russian Federation on the unified gas and electricity markets. Coordination of the draft agreement on the formation of the unified electricity market of the Union State, one of the most important documents, is on the home stretch. So is the work on the rules for the functioning of this market," Viktor Karankevich said.

Work continues on the formation of the unified gas market. "The price for the supply of Russian natural gas to Belarus has been set for three years from 2023 to 2025. The main task for 2023-2025 is to agree on the principles of operation of the unified gas market in order to further converge the economic conditions between our countries," the minister said.
