Belarus, Russia sign agreement on financial market oversight cooperation, information sharing

Belarus and Russia have signed an agreement on cooperation and on sharing information, including confidential one, in the field of oversight and/or control over the financial market, the press service of the Russian Federation government told BelTA.

The document was signed by the governments of Belarus and Russia as well as by the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus and Russia’s Central Bank. The agreement had been developed by Belarusian and Russian financial regulators as part of the efforts to implement the main guidelines on implementing provisions of the Treaty on the Establishment of the Union State of Belarus and Russia.

The agreement will contribute to stronger cooperation, to coordination of oversight activities and the sharing of information concerning the operation of parent (mother) organizations and transboundary institutions that belong to financial groups, the press service noted.
