Belarus plans to supply potato growing equipment, fertilizers to Russia

Belarus plans to supply industrial and early varieties of potatoes, special equipment for potato growing, and fertilizers to Russia, BelTA learned from the press service of the Agriculture and Food Ministry.

The Agriculture and Food Ministry hosted a delegation of the Russian Union of Potato and Vegetable Market Participants. The meeting was held as a follow-up to the agreements reached following a visit of Belarusian Agriculture and Food Minister Sergei Bartosh to Moscow on 10 November 2023 for a joint meeting of the working group on cooperation between Belarus and Amur Oblast of Russia.

Following the working meeting, the parties agreed on the supply of industrial and early varieties of potatoes, starch, topinambour, Belarusian equipment for potato growing, fertilizers from Belarus both to the central regions of Russia and to the regions of the Far East, and also discussed issues of potato breeding and seed production.

The parties agreed to plant demonstration fields with Belarusian varieties of potatoes in Amur Oblast for the subsequent delivery of the finished product to China.
