Roman Golovchenko, who is on a working visit to the Republic of Bashkortostan, noted that parliamentarians in Belarus play an active role in the country’s political system.
“The head of state pays considerable attention to the work of elected representatives at all levels, entrusting them with additional powers. They are directly involved in the life of the regions, address issues that concern the people, and contribute to the stable operation of industrial, agricultural, and service-sector enterprises,” he said.
He also highlighted Bashkortostan’s valuable experience in parliamentary practice and expressed confidence that Bashkortostan would continue to pursue a policy of developing relations with Belarus.
Andrei Nazarov, in turn, noted that Belarus remains Bashkortostan’s No. 1 foreign economic partner.
“We have numerous joint economic projects that are effective and deliver good results for both sides. Sister-city and sister-region ties are developing between our districts and cities, with nine such agreements signed. We have also established exchanges for children under the Strength of Unity project. We propose continuing to develop these areas,” Andrei Nazarov emphasized. He also stressed the particular importance of bringing the draft federal law on a special economic regime for the Union State of Belarus and Russia to its logical conclusion. This would enable Belarus to strengthen its partnership not only with Bashkortostan but also with other Russian regions.
