Welcoming the participants of the event, Alexander Lukashenko noted that this is a very rare case when the vast majority of the Security Service of the President of Belarus gathered as guests, and are not on combat duty.
The Head of State recalled that the Security Service, like many government agencies, was established 30 years ago. The President stressed that it was the most difficult period of the dashing nineties. And in difficult times, as you know, strong people were needed, because others simply would not have coped with the tasks that the country faced then.
"After the first presidential election, I was faced with the question of what the country's power bloc should have looked like," Alexander Lukashenko continued. - And who should be entrusted with the security of top officials of Belarus, special facilities and distinguished foreign guests on the territory of Belarus."
"Therefore, the best of the law enforcement agencies were selected for the first composition of the Presidential Security Service," the head of state continued.
