The GrSU Rector's Cup tournament brought together volleyball players from universities in Belarus and Russia

An open volleyball tournament among women's teams for the Rector's Cup of the GrSU. Yanka Kupala started on February 25 in Grodno. The tournament is dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the university, BelTA has learned.

The teams of the Grodno Communal Volleyball Club, Grodno State Medical University, Minsk State Linguistic University, Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University (Kaliningrad), Belarusian State University and GrSU take part in the competitions.
"The celebration of Youth, Sports and Friendship - the GrSU Rector's Cup tournament is being held for the 11th time," said Alexander Karevsky, First Vice-Rector of GrSU. - It brought together athletes from universities in Belarus and Russia. These days will be filled not only with games for the guests, they will get acquainted with our university, the city of Grodno, intellectual games and quizzes."
Polina Zhukevich, a student of GrSU and a volleyball player, called the Rector's Cup tournament useful for gaining new sports experience. "We have already played the first game, we got a lot of positive emotions," the girl shared. - The tournament is also useful for preparing for the Belarusian championship."
Anna Kozlova, an athlete from Kaliningrad, noted that the Russian university team came to Grodno with the hope of winning. "This is the 10th time we have participated in the competition. We have brought a strong, competitive team and we are very much looking forward to winning a place," said the university student. Of Kant.
The tournament will last until February 27. The winners will receive awards, and all participants will have a great opportunity to plunge into the uplifting atmosphere on the days when the GrSU celebrates its 85th anniversary and share the holiday with friends.
