PHOTOfact: Winners of the Bridge of Friendship Contest for Young Writers of the Union State were awarded in Minsk

The day before, the results of the Bridge of Friendship Competition for Young Writers, established by the Permanent Committee of the Union State, were summed up in the oval hall of the National Library of the Republic of Belarus. According to the results of the expert council, ten winners were determined: five young authors from Belarus and five from Russia.

The literary competition was held for the first time in 2012. It was organized by the Gorky Institute of World Literature (Russian Federation) and the National Press Center of the Republic of Belarus. Over the past six years, the Bridge of Friendship has awarded more than 50 young writers.
In total, more than 40 applications were submitted for the competition, which took place from May to October 2024, by authors aged 18 to 30.
After the preliminary selection, 38 works were admitted to the final part. Young writers presented their short literary works – short stories, essays, and sketches written in Russian or Belarusian – to the jury.
So, among the winners from Belarus:
- Ales Veshhtort ("Pamyatsi pravfesara Pimka"),
- Kira Metelitsa ("Life as a service to people"),
- Ksenia Kuznetsova ("Divnaya winter, or How I stopped being lonely"),
- Victoria Migulya ("Teenager in the sandbox"),
- Ekaterina Nazarova ("Budslavski busly").
Winners from Russia:
- Euphrosyne Kapustina ("Nine Days Later"),
- Ivan Kuznetsov ("The Pit with the Musicians"),
- Zagida Musina ("Weekday"),
- Alexander Ryazantsev ("Turn off the Lights When You Leave"),
- Egor Somov ("Bums").
