President of Russia Vladimir Putin traditionally reviewed the parade as Supreme Commander-in-Chief. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko attended the parade. The Belarusian leader arrived in Moscow on a working visit the day before. On May 8, he held talks with his Russian counterpart at the Kremlin.
Along with veterans of the Great Patriotic War, the honorary guests' tribune also featured heads of several states who came to Moscow to share in the Victory Day celebrations. Among them were President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith, the Supreme Ruler of Malaysia, Sultan Ibrahim, and others.
