18:45, 16 March

The National Press Center continued its series of press tours of leading Belarusian higher education institutions. Together with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health, journalists visited the Belarusian State Medical University. The event was timed to coincide with the start of the 2026 admissions campaign and a presentation of the university's modern educational opportunities, reports a Soyuz.by correspondent.

Less than three months remain until the start of the admissions campaign, but prospective students are already looking at universities. Belarus's premier medical university is opening its doors to those ready to take their first step into a lifelong profession.

The Belarusian State Medical University is the largest center for medical training. Education is offered in 72 departments, divided into six faculties: General Medicine, Pharmaceutical Medicine, Pediatrics, Dentistry, Preventive Medicine, and Military Medicine.

The total number of students exceeds 5,500. Students come from not only Belarus but also China, Uzbekistan, India, and Russia.
Today, education at BSMU has long since gone beyond lectures and notes. Future doctors hone their skills in simulation centers, train on virtual patients, and, even before receiving their diploma, are immersed in real-world clinical practice at leading Moscow hospitals.
