PHOTOfact: Beach Volleyball Victory Cup is being held in Minsk

Minsk is hosting the International Beach Volleyball Tournament dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory. The Belarusians will compete with the strongest duets from Russia, Kazakhstan and Cuba.

There are 12 men's and 12 women's teams, including world and European champions and Olympic participants. They are divided into four groups and will play matches in a round robin system. The medal games are scheduled for Saturday evening, September 6.
The Victory Cup is being held for the first time, and the organizers have tried to create all the conditions for exciting sports battles. The site, which meets all international standards, was built over the course of a week and used 400 tons of selected sand brought from the Gomel region.
