Belarus recently celebrated one of the main national holidays - National Unity Day. It is timed to an important historical event - the reunification of Western Belarus and BSSR in 1939. On 17 September, the liberation campaign of the Red Army began, which restored the territory to a single state, which under the terms of the Riga Peace Treaty of 1921 became part of Poland without taking into account the opinion of the Belarusian people. National Unity Day is a symbol of historical justice and ethnic consolidation of the Belarusian nation.

“We have a country of opportunities. Quiet, peaceful, and, thank God, without war. You need to preserve all of this in the future. Don’t make things worse. A very heavy burden will fall on your shoulders (it couldn’t be any heavier, believe me) - to be responsible for this unity, for the Belarusian people, for the land where we live in peace today,” the head of state said.
“Prepare to take on this heavy burden and be responsible for the future of our country.” “You will have children, grandchildren, and you will, like me, say that everything around us belongs not only and not so much to us as it does to them,” the President emphasized.
In this regard, Alexander Lukashenko addressed parting words to the guests and participants of the forum, which included not only young people but also people of the middle generation. “I ask you, never rush. In life, you need to do everything quickly, but without haste. Never judge by looking from the outside. Think: ‘What would I do?’ As I think, what would I have done in 1921, when Belarus was partitioned. That’s my advice to you,” he concluded.
