The traditional international sambo tournament for prizes of the President of the Republic of Belarus has ended in Minsk, the BELTA correspondent reports.

On the second day of the competition at the Sport Palace, the athletes determined the best out of the best in ten weight categories. The mat owners won 19 awards (7-4-8).

The winners of the home tournament were Ksenia Danilovich (up to 54 kg), Mariana Zhukovets (up to 80 kg), Igor Miroevsky (up to 64 kg), Maxim Romanov (up to 79 kg), Daniil Patachits (up to 98 kg), Eduard Muravitsky (up to 88 kg, combat sambo) and Roman Damiev (over 98 kg, combat).

The second places in the finals were taken by Ruslana Shoba (up to 54 kg), Yana Puzenkova (up to 80 kg), Ilya Lomivorotov (up to 79 kg) and Eduard Belush (up to 58 kg, combat). On February 15, Daria Novitskaya, Daniela Zhdan (both up to 65 kg), Varvara Belochub (up to 80 kg), Vladislav Kulesh (up to 64 kg), Kirill Tkachenko, Alexander Kazak (both up to 58 kg, combat), Denis Ignatok and Vladislav Natalevich (both over 98 kg, combat).

In total, Belarusian sambo wrestlers won 39 medals in two days: 13 gold, 6 silver and 20 bronze. Representatives of Russia, Israel, Germany, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan also took part in the sambo tournament for the prizes of the President. In total, the athletes competed for 21 sets of awards - 7 each in men's sports, women's sports and men's combat sambo.
