Manufacturing is currently the most pressing topic for the state. Head of the Belarus President Administration Dmitry Krutoi made the statement in an interview with the First News TV Channel, BelTA has learned.

The Belarus President Administration head noted that despite acceptable social and economic development results (positive results were achieved in all key parameters), 2026 was complicated for virtually all economy branches.

“Manufacturing is currently the most pressing topic for the president. It varies greatly, in fact, but speaking of the heart of our manufacturing sector — those are engineering flagships that are now restructuring their supply chains. This includes sales operations (the geography of our exports is changing), import substitution, and deliveries of components to assembly lines from new countries and new suppliers. This is why the president keeps a very tight grip on the matter of product quality,” Dmitry Krutoi said. “Quality is the number one matter. Without it, entering new markets, whether in Africa or Asian countries, is impossible.”

Agriculture and the civil engineering sector are also under special oversight. “Today these are the three main pillars shaping the country’s overall economy,” the Belarus President Administration head emphasized.

In his words, the Belarus president immerses himself deeply in all these matters, especially considering the upcoming session of the Belarusian People’s Congress at the end of the year. Among recent examples Dmitry Krutoi cited the head of state’s visit to the Amkodor-Lesmash enterprise and a conference on housing construction prospects.

“A deputy prime minister reported on civil engineering as a whole, on the implementation of major projects, and on the utilization of investment programs, both national and oblast ones. Considering that oblast governors were present, I believe a very good discussion took place,” Dmitry Krutoi noted. “Another block — and such an event will take place in the near future — concerns instructions for our scientists. They will demonstrate their developments and report on the tasks set before them last year.”

By the end of the year the president also plans to visit the Belkommunmash enterprise, a leading manufacturer of electromechanical transport. “Many decisions have been made in recent years regarding the development of pilot cities and their transition to electrobus service — Zhodino, Shklov, Novopolotsk. Decisions to replace some of the commuter routes between Minsk and satellite towns with electrobuses, plus prospects for developing our electrobus cluster because MAZ also takes care of such vehicles, and the Stadler plant is involved in this work as well,” Dmitry Krutoi noted.

In his words, on the whole, the head of state is interested in how the task of increasing electricity consumption is being accomplished taking into account the fact that the Belarusian nuclear power plant has reached the full output capacity and has been integrated into the country’s power grid. “The electric vehicle sector is very promising. There is huge demand, including from the Russian market, which means serious export opportunities. This is why the president wants a comprehensive look at this story,” Dmitry Krutoi added.

A “progress review” also awaits the tourism sector. It occupies a special place in the program on Belarus’ social and economic development in 2026-2030. It is necessary to double tourism’s contribution to the gross domestic product. “We are still working out options for the president on where and how. But a big conversation about tourism will definitely be held,” the Belarus President Administration head noted.

By the end of the year Aleksandr Lukashenko will revisit the topic of the agribusiness sector more than once. At the same time the flax growing industry will be under oversight. As he visited Shklov District in September, the head of state criticized the quality of harvesting this crop. “Another large-scale project has been implemented at our leading processing enterprise in Orsha. The president wants a comprehensive report on the operation of our agricultural enterprises that take care of flax and the involvement of our scientists, primarily the Flax Institute, in terms of helping agrarians,” Dmitry Krutoi said.

He also recalled that Baranovichi Cotton Production Amalgamation came under the management of Orsha Linen Mill back in the day. This is a very important enterprise for the economy of Brest Oblast. The head of state wants to hear reports on how the two industrial giants are working together in this sector.

“Our industrial flagships are implementing a number of projects, including those involving integration money from loans allocated by the Russian Federation. We are talking about making products for our Union State [of Belarus and Russia] market. They invite the president to visit a number of manufacturing facilities related to this lineup,” Dmitry Krutoi noted. “The president is getting updated on what the republic’s economy lives by today and how instructions on developing new economy branches and directions are being fulfilled. There will be a series of events, and many messages and thoughts will be used in the president’s address to delegates of the Belarusian People’s Congress and in discussions regarding the prime minister’s report on key areas of the program on Belarus’ social and economic development until 2030.”
