Possibility of shipping more Belarusian cargoes via Russian ports discussed

Representatives of the Belarusian and Russian transport authorities have discussed matters concerning freight transportation between the two countries, the press service of the Russian Transport Ministry told BelTA.

The possibilities were discussed by State Secretary – Deputy Transport Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Zverev and Belarusian First Deputy Transport and Communications Minister Aleksei Lyakhnovich during a videoconference. In particular, the possibility of shipping more Belarusian cargoes via Russian ports was mentioned.

The sides expressed mutual interest in transporting more cargoes between Belarus and Russia and in transporting more freight in transit via the two countries. The choice of cargoes was also discussed. An agreement was reached that additional consultations will be organized soon in order to implement the plans as soon as possible.
