Ministry of Transport: active work is currently being carried out to introduce flights from Minsk to Russian regions

“The work on opening new flights is going on. We are mainly working with the introduction of routes to the Russian regions,” consultant of the Department of Aviation of the Belarusian Ministry of Transport and Communications Gennady Kostiuk told the press, reports a Soyuz.by portal correspondent.

Speaking to journalists, Gennady Kostyuk said that in 2023-2024 Russian carriers started flying to Minsk National Airport from Cherepovets, Kaluga, Nizhny Novgorod. Flights were launched to Mineralnye Vody, Ulyanovsk, Arkhangelsk and other regions of the Russian Federation.

He also mentioned that Belavia will launch a new flight destination - Makhachkala - in 2024.

“Work is also underway with other regions of the Russian Federation: Barnaul, Vladikavkaz, Volgograd, Omsk. In addition, the issues of domestic approval procedures are being worked out and an international agreement on air traffic with Venezuela, Kenya, Seychelles and, just recently, with Saudi Arabia is being prepared for signing,” added the consultant of the Department of Aviation.
