Today, September 24, the XIII Plenum of the International Union DOSAAF of the CIS started its work in Minsk. The Plenum is attended by delegations from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of republican state and military administration bodies. In the course of the plenary session a number of issues will be considered, which will cover the main directions of the DOSAAF development of the Republic of Belarus in modern conditions, as well as the work of the Russian DOSAAF to improve the military security of the state. State Secretary of the Union State Dmitry Mezentsev has sent greetings to the participants of the XIII Plenum of the Central Council of the International Union DOSAAF of the CIS. The welcoming message of the State Secretary of the Union State was delivered by the Head of the Representation of the Permanent Committee of the Union State in Minsk Marianna Shchetkina, Soyuz.by reports .

Dmitry Mezentsev emphasized that the International Union DOSAAF of the Commonwealth of Independent States is the key structure in the system of military-patriotic education of citizens, technical personnel training in military-applied professions.
“Today, in response to external attempts to separate our peoples, to impose alien ideals and values, we must, relying on the deep traditions of a common historical path, carry out constant work on the patriotic consciousness formation and strengthening the spiritual and moral development of the younger generation,” said the State Secretary of the Union State.
“The DOSAAF history dates back to 1927, when the Society for Assistance to Defense was established. Over the years that have passed since the formation of the defense society, more than 10 million people have been trained, fearless test pilots, cosmonauts, outstanding athletes, hundreds of thousands of qualified specialists have received training and experience in clubs and associations.
Today we are facing the most important tasks of strengthening the defense potential of our countries based on the principles of patriotism, courage and skill handed over to us by the veterans. I sincerely wish the participants of the Plenum, veterans and members of the Voluntary Societies of the Commonwealth countries good health, inexhaustible energy, success in the implementation of important projects, further fruitful work! - is said in the welcoming address of the State Secretary of the Union State.
