The speaker noted that Belarus has ensured a unified coordinated development of technical regulation, standardization, metrology, conformity assessment, accreditation and other related areas of activity as the fundamental basis of the national quality infrastructure. "This has greatly contributed to the fact that the high quality of domestic products is already the hallmark of Belarus. This is the brand of our country. Working hand in hand on the interstate standardization platform, we, as CIS members, the heirs of the Soviet state standardization, progressively continue the best traditions, bringing appropriate innovations to them," said Elena Morgunova.
Belarus occupies one of the leading positions among all CIS countries in the development of interstate standards. "Since 1992, we have developed more than 1.5 thousand interstate standards. The first ten were among the most sought-after industries. To a greater extent, the chemical industry. Nine out of ten were developed on the basis of international ISO standards," added the chairman of the State Standard.
Elena Morgunova stressed that Belarus has developed the largest number of international standards in the fields of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, radio electronics, communications, agriculture, food, chemical, and light industry. "These are the industries that are most developed in our country, in demand and are a source of promotion of national interests," she summed up.
