Today, the XXXI Lisapad International Film Festival concluded in Minsk. The event included the presentation of prizes in 8 competitive programs, as well as special prizes. This year, the Union State Permanent Committee decided to establish a special prize for the preservation of spiritual, moral, cultural, and historical values within the framework of the film festival. The film "My Grandfather" directed by Svyatoslav Vlasov from the Russian Federation was awarded this special prize, correspondent Soyuz.by has learnt.

The main characters in the film are a grandfather and his grandson, who suffers from agoraphobia (a serious mental disorder characterized by a fear of open spaces and large crowds). In an attempt to help his grandson, the grandfather puts his own life and the boy's life in danger, and now the fate of the family depends on whether the boy can overcome his phobias and navigate the Siberian taiga.

"This is the main award, because we work primarily for the audience. The jury is certainly competent, but the most important prize for me is the audience that evaluates the work. After all, we all shoot and perform solely for the audience's appreciation. I am very pleased that the audience's vote has led to this," the director shared.
Director Svyatoslav Vlasov said that the film took a long time to come to life, at least ten years. The main role in the film was played by People's Artist of Belarus Vladimir Gostyukhin.
