Today, an exhibition was opened for the guests and participants of the festival in the foyer of the Mogilev Regional Methodological Center for Folk Art and Cultural and Educational Work, and a small fair began operating on the outdoor area of the cultural institution, where everyone can buy souvenirs and handmade products for themselves. And all of them have a Belarusian flavor.
As Inna Balavneva, Deputy director of the Mogilev Regional Methodological Center for Folk Art and Cultural and Educational Work, noted, this festival is the long-awaited event of the year. "This year, the geography of our festival has become even wider - a delegation from the Kaliningrad region consisting of ten people came to us," she said. - The main goal of our festival is not just an exchange of experience. It provides an incentive for the further creative development of people with disabilities. They begin to make friends and communicate. And that's the most important thing."
The Union State event is of great importance not only for the participants. "This is a presentation of our creative people in various genres. This is a platform for sharing experiences and traditions," says Inna Balavneva. - And our festival also shows that people who have health problems are infinitely talented. And it's very inspiring."
The festival is held in 12 categories. And today, an exhibition of fine and decorative arts has opened in Mogilev, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War. According to Inna Balavneva, this year is a very important event in the history of the two countries for the fraternal peoples of Belarus and Russia, and therefore the participants tried to reflect such an important date in their works. All the works presented at the exhibition are competitive, and their authors will compete for the title of the best.
A large delegation from the Brest region arrived in Mogilev. "Two craftsmen came with us - one of them embroiders towels. The second girl has been suffering from cerebral palsy since childhood, she embroider cross-stitch paintings on the smallest canvas. One painting takes one and a half, or even two years. And from a distance it seems that they are painted in oil, not embroidered. We have a lot of vocalists who will perform in different genres, said Galina Gurinchuk, the head of the delegation, a leading methodologist at the Brest Regional Socio-Cultural Center. - This is not the first time our delegation has participated in this festival. Last year, they even brought a lot of diplomas, but here such a serious jury judges the performers. We hope that this year we will also represent our region with dignity."
According to the woman, it is very wonderful that such festivals are held for people with disabilities. "For them, this is a great incentive for further life and work. They don't just meet with other colleagues here, they meet with friends here. Such a warm and friendly atmosphere. Of course, this is also a cultural exchange that allows you to learn something new, to try yourself in something new," she summed up.
The exhibition hall has a bright and diverse exposition. Paintings and embroidery, toys and products made of beads, beads and wood, jewelry, various knitwear, quilts - each of the participants tried to bring their best work. And some of them say that they began to prepare the works immediately after the end of the festival last year.
The first day of the festival continued with a bright creative concert, where each participant and spectator not only immersed themselves in the culture of the region from which the band came, but also received a charge of positive emotions.
The event of the Union State "The Festival of Creativity of disabled people "Together we can do more" will be held in the regional center until September 26.
