Gennady Bolbatovsky, Director of the Republican Center for Health and Spa Treatment of the Population, stated that 2025 was a successful year for the industry, demonstrating growth across all key indicators. According to him, the average annual occupancy rate at spa facilities reached a peak of 84.6%. Over the course of the year, 1,561,000 people received treatment and rehabilitation there. Financial results also improved: revenue from services increased by 21% compared to 2024, exceeding 1.5 billion rubles, reports a Soyuz.by correspondent.

Significant growth has been observed in medical tourism. Last year, 260,000 foreign citizens from 80 countries visited the country, demonstrating a geographic expansion. The year before, visitors came from 68 countries. Revenue from the export of spa and wellness services increased by more than 40%, reaching $175 million in dollar terms.

At the same time, work is underway to modernize the infrastructure. In 2025, over 251 million rubles were allocated to strengthen the material and technical infrastructure of institutions, allowing for equipment upgrades. Moreover, as Bolbatovsky emphasized, all social projects and state programs were fully implemented. 799,000 people received preferential treatment and health care using funds from the republican budget and the State Social Insurance Fund. Children remain a traditional priority: approximately 70% of the allocated funds under the targeted program, amounting to 290 million rubles, are earmarked for the treatment and health care of children.

The socially oriented policy will continue into 2026, and all planned state programs and their funding will be implemented. Upcoming projects include organizing additional winter breaks from February 17 to 22 for first-, second-, and third-graders with special needs. Day camps will be run jointly with the Ministry of Education, providing health benefits to approximately 16,500 children. During the spring break, through March 29, these camps are expected to accommodate approximately 65,000 children.

The current forecast for health resorts remains optimistic. According to the center, sales are significant: reservations for the spring months, including March, April, and May, already exceed 60%. This allows for further occupancy growth to be expected. Summer reservations are already open, and demand is traditionally high at this time of year. Bolbatovsky emphasized the importance of choosing a suitable health resort and arrival time in advance for those seeking treatment.
