The Government has approved the state program "Physical Culture and Sport" for 2026-2030. The corresponding decree was signed by Prime Minister of Belarus Alexander Turchin, the government's press service reported.

The program contains two subprograms: "Active lifestyle" (aimed at the development of physical culture), "Training of sports reserves and high-class athletes" (aimed at the development of sports). The total amount of financing for the state program is Br8.43 billion.
What is the expected net effect by 2030? The share of people engaged in physical education and sports in the total population will be 35%. A number of other tasks have also been set. Team-wide participation in complex international sports events (Games of the CIS countries, Sports Games of the BRICS countries) - not lower than the 4th place. The utilization of physical culture and sports facilities (in terms of attendance and time of use) was 89.6% and 92.3%, respectively. The number of persons who have fulfilled the standards stipulated by the RWD is at least 64.5 thousand people. The number of physical education and recreation groups for the disabled and physically weakened in physical education and sports organizations is at least 100.
The number of sports and recreation facilities, multifunctional complexes, and swimming pools built is at least 31. The provision of agro-towns with integrated sports grounds is at least 30%. The number of medals (1st - 3rd places) at the Olympic Games, championships, cups, world and European championships in Olympic disciplines is at least 300.
The number of athletes who have fulfilled the qualification standards for awarding the sports titles "Master of Sports of the Republic of Belarus of International class" and "Master of Sports of the Republic of Belarus" is at least 3,800.
